Frequently asked questions
Does this edit or upload the video?
No. Your file is decoded locally and kept unchanged. The output contains still frames and notes, not an edited video.
How are scenes detected?
Frames are sampled at evenly spaced times and their small RGB thumbnails are compared. A frame is suggested when sufficiently different from all earlier selected frames. Lighting, camera motion and subtle cuts can affect the result; review and override every selection.
Are timestamps frame exact?
No. Seeking uses the browser video decoder, so the displayed image can be near the requested time. The JSON records the requested millisecond timestamp.
What is in the ZIP?
It contains selected PNG frames and storyboard.json with source file name, size, SHA-256 hash, dimensions, duration, settings, timestamps and notes.
What are the limits?
One local MP4/WebM video up to 64 MiB, 10 minutes and 8 million pixels; sample up to 24 frames and export up to 12 scenes. Browser codec support is required.
Privacy
The video is decoded only in this browser. No upload, URL lookup, analytics event or browser storage is used. Clearing or leaving releases source references.
