Panorama Stitcher
Find matching scene features, verify their displacement, align photos by translation, compensate exposure and blend a low-difference seam. This is more than placing image files side by side.
Key features
- Use normalized patch feature correspondences that tolerate moderate exposure shifts
- Keep features with consistent translation and validate overlap correlation and registration error
- Compensate per-channel exposure and select a low-difference seam with feather blending
- Reject non-overlapping or low-texture photos and identify the failing pair
- Save a panorama PNG plus JSON containing displacement, correspondences, error and seam position
How to use
- Choose same-camera, same-scale photos with roughly 20–80% overlap in left-to-right order.
- Use the up/down controls to correct the order, then run alignment and blending.
- Inspect the result and each pair's translation, matches, overlap, error and seam.
- Save the PNG and diagnostic JSON, then visually inspect moving objects and perspective changes.
Use cases
- Combine two to four landscape frames shot from a steady position
- Preview a wider view from successive photos with small exposure differences
- Inspect feature matches and the failing pair to correct photo order
- Keep the PNG and alignment diagnostics together
Frequently asked questions
Will photos without overlap be combined?
No. If there are too few matching features, inconsistent displacement or low overlap pixel correlation, the tool fails and returns no partial panorama.
Does this correct handheld rotation or perspective changes?
No. It estimates translation between equally sized photos only. Rotation, focal-length changes, perspective, parallax and lens distortion are not corrected; such photos may fail or show doubled edges.
Will the seam disappear completely?
No. The tool chooses a low-color-difference vertical path, feathers around it and compensates exposure per channel. Moving objects, major sky exposure changes and parallax can still cause ghosting.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Decoding, alignment, blending and PNG/JSON export all run in the browser.
