Organization Chart Editor
Give each person one primary manager to form the main reporting hierarchy, then record additional matrix responsibilities with dotted-line supervisors. A person can belong to several teams without duplicating their record. Search the directory by name, title or team, and validate missing references and reporting cycles before exporting.
Key features
- Edit primary and dotted-line reporting separately
- Store titles and multiple team memberships per person
- Detect missing references and cycles across both reporting types
- Explore the diagram and search by name, title or team
- Round-trip strict JSON and export a CSV directory
- Keep data in page memory with keyboard-operable controls

Frequently asked questions
Can one person belong to two teams?
Yes. Select multiple teams for one person. They have one primary manager or none, while any additional matrix reporting is represented by separate dotted-line supervisors.
What happens if reporting lines form a cycle?
The editor checks primary and dotted-line edges together. If following supervisors returns to the same person, the change or import is rejected and the current chart remains intact.
What happens when a manager is removed?
Their direct reports move to the removed person's primary manager. Dotted-line references to that person are removed. The final remaining person cannot be deleted.
What if imported JSON references a missing manager or team?
Unknown primary or dotted supervisors, unknown team IDs, duplicate IDs and unsupported versions are rejected. A failed import leaves the current project unchanged.
Can I reimport the CSV?
CSV is a directory for reading and sharing. To preserve team and dotted-line relationships for later editing, save and reimport the version 1 JSON project.
Does this connect to an HR system?
No. Data stays in this browser page's memory and is not sent to a server or HR system. Download JSON before refreshing if you want to keep your edits.
Privacy
Names and reporting relationships are processed only in this browser page's memory. They are not automatically sent to or stored on a server. A local file is created only when you explicitly download JSON or CSV.
