Packaging Dieline Designer
Create a one-piece slotted box prototype with four wall panels, top and bottom flaps and a manufacturer's glue tab. Red lines mark cuts, blue dashed lines mark folds, and both SVG and vector PDF use real millimetre dimensions. The L/W/H inputs are nominal distances between scores on the flat blank, not guaranteed finished inside dimensions. Make a 100% scale trial cut and fold before adapting it to your material and equipment.
Key features
- One-piece L/W/L/W strip with eight top and bottom flaps
- Thickness-aware slot clearance and flap depth
- Chamfered glue tab with separate cut and fold segments
- Overall blank size, cut/fold lengths and panel dimensions
- Real-millimetre SVG and vector PDF export
How to use
- Start from the example and enter the flat score-to-score panel length, width and height in millimetres.
- Set material thickness, glue tab width and minimum slot gap.
- Review red cut lines, blue fold lines and overall blank dimensions.
- Save SVG or PDF.
- Print at actual 100% size, trial cut and fold, then adjust for your material.
Use cases
- Draft the shape of a paper box prototype
- Compare flap and slot allowances for different material thicknesses
- Prepare separate cut and fold vectors for design discussion
Frequently asked questions
Are L, W and H the finished inside dimensions?
No. They are nominal score-to-score dimensions of the flat panels. Actual inside size depends on material, scoring, gluing and manufacturing tolerances.
How does material thickness affect the net?
Half the thickness is added to flap depth, and the actual slot gap is the larger of your requested gap and twice the thickness. Production allowances are not calculated automatically.
Is this a certified FEFCO 0201 design?
No. It is a prototype inspired by the common four-panel slotted box with flaps and a glue joint. It does not certify official geometry, material allowances or machine compatibility.
Can I print the PDF on A4 paper?
The PDF has one custom-size sheet matching the real blank. A blank larger than A4 needs larger paper or separate tiling. Scaling it down changes the dimensions.
How are cut and fold lines separated?
The SVG keeps them in separate groups. The PDF uses solid red for cuts and dashed blue for folds. Adapt them to your production workflow.
