What is Merge Images?
Merge Images is a free online tool that stitches multiple photos, screenshots, or captures into a single image, vertically or horizontally. It is the fastest way to consolidate a long chat thread into one picture, place before-and-after photos side by side, or combine several page screenshots into one shareable image.
It focuses purely on stitching, with no collage templates or complex editing. Just set the order by dragging, then adjust spacing, background color, alignment, and size fit. Everything runs in your browser's Canvas, so your images never leave your device, and there is no watermark or sign-up.
Key Features
Vertical or horizontal
Stack images into a tall column or line them up in a row. Switch direction and the live preview updates instantly.
Drag to reorder
Add images by drag and drop, then reorder them by dragging in the list or using the arrow buttons to set the exact merge order.
Spacing, background, alignment
Fine-tune the gap between images (px), a background color or transparent background, alignment (left/center/right, top/middle/bottom), and auto width/height fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server when merging?
No. All processing happens entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API. Your images are never sent to or stored on any server, so you can safely merge private photos and screenshots.
Can I stitch long screenshots or chat captures into one image?
Yes. Add your captures, choose 'Vertical', and set the order to stitch them into a single image. The 'Screenshot preset' button instantly configures vertical direction, zero gap, width-fit and PNG output.
How do I change the merge order?
Drag items in the image list to reorder them, or use the up/down arrow buttons on each item. The preview updates instantly whenever the order changes.
What if my images are different sizes?
That's fine. With 'Keep original' each image stays at its native size and you can pick alignment (left/center/right or top/middle/bottom). Choose 'Fit width' (vertical) or 'Fit height' (horizontal) to neatly align them while preserving aspect ratio.
Is there a watermark? Is it free?
There is no watermark at all and it is completely free. No sign-up or login is required, and you can download the merged result directly as PNG or JPG.
Can I save with a transparent background?
Yes. Choose the PNG format and turn on the 'Transparent' option to keep the margins transparent. JPG does not support transparency, so margins are filled with white instead.
