Document Version Comparator
Compare a before and after file of the same format. For PDF, selectable text helps align inserted or shifted pages and distinguish text edits from changes in position or font. Render any paired pages side by side with a red pixel difference map. For DOCX, inspect WordprocessingML body paragraphs, direct formatting and style definitions to distinguish insertions, deletions, edits and formatting changes. This uses document structure rather than pasted plain text.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the text diff tool?
Text diff compares pasted strings by line or word. This tool reads PDF pages, coordinates and fonts or DOCX paragraphs and style evidence directly from two files.
Does it compare scanned PDFs?
Image-only pages can be rendered for visual inspection, but text extraction and automatic page alignment do not use OCR. Such pages are flagged for review.
Can it show visual page differences for DOCX?
No. DOCX has no fixed printed pagination: fonts, paper and rendering engines alter page breaks. This tool compares body paragraphs and styles. Export both versions to PDF with the same renderer for page-level visual review.
Is the pixel percentage the amount of content that changed?
No. It measures rendered RGB pixels above a threshold. Font substitution, antialiasing and repositioning can all raise the value.
Does it inspect comments and tracked revisions?
No. It reads the current body paragraphs. Headers, footers, comments, previous tracked states, drawings and embedded objects are outside the comparison.
