Attribute Trio Puzzle
Every card has one of three values for count, shape, hue, and texture. A trio is valid only if, for each trait separately, its three values are all the same or all different. A two-against-one trait makes the trio invalid. The 81 original geometric cards are dealt in seeded order. Valid trios are removed and replenished, with per-trait verdicts, score, hint use, remaining deck, and finish state shown as you play.
Key features
- 81 original geometric cards from four traits with three values each and reproducible seeded order
- Separate all-same, all-different, or mixed verdicts for all four traits
- Automatic extra dealing when no trio is visible and an explicit finish state
- Remove and replace valid trios, deduct misses and hints, undo and reset the same seed
- Keyboard-accessible cards with count, shape, texture and text beyond hue alone
- Strict replay-validated JSON save and import of seed and action history
How to use
- Enter a seed and start, or load the original practice example. The same seed reproduces the same card order.
- Observe count, shape, hue, and texture, then select three distinct cards. Tab and Enter or Space also work.
- Check the three cards to see a truth table for each trait. Every trait must be all the same or all different.
- Valid cards are removed and replaced as needed. Wrong guesses and hints deduct points. You can undo the last action.
- The game ends when the deck is empty and no visible trio remains. Save or import the replay-validated JSON log.
Use cases
- Practice logic by observing count and texture in addition to hue and shape
- Compare the same seeded board with a friend
- Review which mixed trait caused a miss and how hints affected the score
Frequently asked questions
What makes three cards a valid trio?
Check count, shape, hue, and texture separately. For each trait, the three values must be all equal or all distinct. If any trait has two matching values and one different value, the trio is invalid.
What if the visible cards contain no trio?
If cards remain in the deck, three more are dealt automatically until a trio appears or the deck runs out. When the deck is empty and no visible trio remains, the game ends. The current trio count and remaining deck are shown.
What does a hint reveal?
It selects two cards from one currently valid trio; find the third yourself. A hint costs one point. You cannot request another hint until you submit a trio, which clears the current hint.
How is the score calculated?
Each valid trio earns three points. Each wrong submission and each hint costs one point, with a floor of zero. Undo replays the seed and log, restoring both score and board.
Do the cards come from a trademarked game or outside image bank?
No. The default geometric cards and example were made for this tool. No external images, problem bank, or official brand affiliation are used.
Can I resume from an edited JSON file?
JSON stores the seed and ordered submissions and hints. Import rebuilds the deck and checks that each selected card was visible at that turn. A damaged file does not replace your current game.
Privacy
The board, seed, and actions are computed in your browser. Only JSON that you explicitly download or import is saved or read locally; there is no automatic server storage.
