Applied increment: 1

Undo keeps the latest 100 score, reset and settings changes. Scores are bounded to −999,999…999,999; the nonnegative policy uses zero as the lower bound.

The example replaces all teams, scores, settings and undo history with three sample teams at 7, 4 and 7 points.

Team and score settings

Edits below take effect together when you apply them. The score buttons continue to show and use the currently applied increment.

With negatives off, subtraction stops at zero. Applying this policy also sets existing negative scores to zero; undo restores the previous values and policy.

Existing team positions retain their scores. New teams start at zero; reducing the count removes the last teams. Undo can restore them.

Team names, scores, settings and undo history stay in the current page’s memory. This tool does not upload or automatically save them. Refreshing or closing the page clears this scoreboard.

Frequently asked questions

How do scoring increments and negative scores work?

Each button uses the currently applied increment from 1 to 1,000. With negative scores disabled, subtraction that crosses zero stops at zero. With negatives enabled, scores can fall below zero. Applying the disabled policy converts all existing negative scores to zero as one undoable settings change.

What can I undo?

The latest 100 changes to scores, score resets, team names, team count, increment and negative policy are undoable. A change that leaves the board identical does not consume history. Undo can restore removed teams and their scores. Replacing the board with the example clears the old board and its history.

What happens when I change the team count or names?

Settings are applied together. Existing team positions keep their IDs and scores, renamed teams retain their points, and new teams start at zero. Reducing the team count removes teams from the end. That change can be undone. Same-name teams remain distinct by their visible numbers.

Which keyboard shortcuts are supported?

With focus inside the scoreboard, keys 1–8 select an existing team. Up or plus adds the current increment; down or minus subtracts it. Ctrl+Z or Command+Z undoes the last change. Held-key repeats are ignored. These shortcuts do not run while editing form fields or while focus is outside the scoreboard.

What is the score range and does the board choose a winner?

Scores are whole numbers from −999,999 to 999,999 when negatives are allowed, otherwise 0 to 999,999. A change beyond the range is rejected. The board highlights the current highest score and all ties, but does not end a game or enforce a sport’s winning rules.

Are my team names and scores saved or sent anywhere?

No. This tool keeps them only in the current page’s memory and makes no automatic storage or network request with them. Refreshing or closing the page clears the board. Resetting scores keeps the current names and settings; it does not create an external record.
