Syndication Feed Workbench
Turn a list of posts into a text-only RSS 2.0 or Atom 1.0 XML feed. Review URL, identity and timestamp errors, then inspect the XML and entries before saving.
Key features
- Edit feed title, description, site and feed URLs, and up to 50 posts
- Generate RSS channel fields, item GUIDs and dates or Atom IDs, author, updated and summary
- Reject duplicate identifiers, invalid dates, reversed timestamps and non-HTTP URLs
- Escape text and URLs as XML instead of embedding user HTML
- Preview generated XML and posts, then download an RSS or Atom file
- Process everything in your browser without fetching external URLs
How to use
- Load and edit the sample or choose a format and enter feed metadata.
- For each post, supply a title, URL, stable ID, summary and published/updated times with a time zone.
- Generate the feed, then correct any field and post number shown in an error.
- Inspect the XML and post preview, download the file and publish it on your own server.
Use cases
- Prepare an RSS feed for new posts on a personal blog.
- Keep stable post IDs while making an Atom version of an existing feed.
- Check that non-ASCII text and reserved XML characters are escaped safely.
- Catch a duplicate GUID or update date earlier than publication before posting.
Frequently asked questions
Does this publish the feed to my website?
No. It creates and downloads an XML file in the browser. You publish that file and configure a subscription or autodiscovery link yourself. The tool does not visit your site or submit a feed.
How do RSS and Atom differ here?
Both are XML syndication formats. This RSS 2.0 output has channel fields, item GUIDs and RFC-style dates. This Atom 1.0 output has a namespace, feed and entry IDs, author, updated and ISO dates. Choose the format your readers or service expects.
Why have separate post URL and ID fields?
The URL points to the post, while the ID is a stable identity that feed readers can use across updates. A blank ID defaults to the post URL and duplicate IDs within a feed are rejected. Keep existing IDs if a post URL later changes.
What date format should I enter?
Include seconds and an explicit zone, such as 2026-09-27T09:00:00+09:00 or 2026-09-27T00:00:00Z. Calendar dates and update-after-publication order are checked; the XML uses UTC. Up to three fractional-second digits are supported.
Can I include HTML content or images?
This tool supports titles and text summaries only. Angle brackets and other reserved characters are escaped as XML text, so no HTML body or external entity is inserted. Media enclosures and HTML content need separate editing and validation.
Are my URLs and posts sent to a server?
No. All fields are handled in browser memory, with no URL visits or automatic saving. The downloaded XML includes the public-facing titles, summaries and URLs you entered; review it before publishing.
Privacy
Feed and post fields are converted to XML in browser memory. There is no server upload, external URL lookup or automatic persistence. Downloaded XML contains the titles, summaries and URLs you enter.
