Tangram Studio
Move two large triangles, one medium triangle, a square, a parallelogram and two small triangles. Positions snap to whole grid units; rotation advances by 45 degrees. The result is based on the union of the actual polygons, not piece IDs or their original order. Completion requires pairwise overlap, area outside the silhouette and uncovered area each at or below 0.01.

How to use
- Inspect the kite silhouette at left and the seven scattered pieces at right.
- Drag a piece, or select it and use the arrow keys or move buttons. R or rotation buttons turn it 45 degrees; F or the flip button mirrors it.
- Press Check to measure overlap, area beyond the silhouette and uncovered area.
- Save the layout as JSON or the board as SVG. You can reset or reveal the example solution.

Frequently asked questions
How is completion decided?
The actual polygons are compared. Pairwise overlap, area outside the target and uncovered target area must each be at most 0.01 square grid units. Piece identities need not match the example solution positions.
Can I create or solve any tangram silhouette?
This version has one authored kite silhouette and seven fixed pieces. Custom outline upload, automatic solving and generation of every possible tangram silhouette are not supported.
How precise are placement and rotation?
Positions use whole grid units, rotation has eight 45-degree steps and horizontal reflection is supported. The 0.01 area tolerance accommodates floating-point boundary error; it is not intended to accept visible gaps.
Is the puzzle sent away?
No. Interaction and geometry checks run in this browser tab. Only explicitly exported JSON or SVG is saved to your device.
Privacy
Layouts stay in the current browser tab and are neither submitted nor autosaved. Files you explicitly download remain on your device.
