Presentation Rehearsal Studio
Set a speaking goal and notes for each slide, then rehearse through the deck. Every move starts a new timed visit, even when you revisit a slide. The report sums active time by slide, compares it with your target, and shows the complete visit order. A PDF can provide local slide previews. The microphone is optional; no speech recognition is used.
Key features
- PDF page preview or a manually written slide plan
- Monotonic active-time tracking with automatic pause when the tab is hidden
- Visit timeline that includes backtracking and per-slide cumulative durations
- Target-versus-actual chart, detailed timing table and CSV/JSON report
- Optional browser microphone recording with local playback and download
How to use
- Load the example, write slide sections, or select a local PDF of up to 80 pages and 50 MiB.
- Edit each slide's name, optional speaking notes and target seconds.
- Start rehearsal without audio, or explicitly choose the microphone option.
- Move through slides, pause or resume, and finish; hiding the tab automatically pauses active time.
- Review the chart, table and visit order, then download the report and optional audio before closing the tab.
Use cases
- Check which talk sections exceed their speaking targets
- Run through a PDF deck and revisit a difficult slide
- Practice a pitch without granting microphone permission
- Keep a local audio take alongside a timing report
Frequently asked questions
Does selecting a PDF upload it?
No. PDF.js renders the selected file in your browser. The report stores slide names and notes, not the PDF bytes. Password-protected or unsupported PDFs may fail to open.
Does hidden-tab time count?
No. Hiding the tab automatically pauses active time and the optional recorder. You resume explicitly. The timing report uses the browser's monotonic clock within this tab, not wall-clock timestamps.
How are revisited slides counted?
Each move closes the current timed visit and opens another. The visit list shows order and length; the per-slide row sums all of that slide's visits.
Is the speaking pace actually measured?
No. The notes are split on whitespace. A displayed token-per-minute value assumes you spoke all notes during the measured time. It is an editing estimate, not speech recognition or measured spoken words.
When is the microphone used?
Only after you press Start with microphone and approve your browser's permission prompt. Start without audio needs no microphone. Recordings remain local and are not transcribed.
How does this differ from a teleprompter or event run sheet?
A teleprompter scrolls a script; a run sheet operates event cues. This tool renders a slide deck, captures timed slide visits and produces a practice report against target speaking durations.
Privacy
Slide notes, PDF bytes, timing history and optional microphone recording stay in this browser tab. The tool has no upload action. Audio is held in memory until you download it or close the tab; report downloads contain notes and timing but no PDF or audio bytes. Your browser may still apply its own media permission controls.
