Instagram 9-Tile Splitter
Select a square area of your source image and create a three-column, three-row tile set. Preview spatial tile numbers separately from file sequence numbers. This tool generates files; it does not guarantee compatibility with an app’s current profile-grid proportions or posting arrangement.

Frequently asked questions
Does this tool post to Instagram automatically?
No. It does not connect an account, sign in or upload. It only creates PNG and ZIP files. Check the actual posting order and results in the app you intend to use.
Is it guaranteed to match the current Instagram profile grid?
No. The tool uses its own rule: a selected square divided into 3×3 tiles. Preview proportions, profile crops, pinned posts or display order in an app can change how the images appear together.
How do I choose the square?
X and Y are pixel coordinates from the top-left of the original. Size is the square’s side length, at least 3px, and the whole square must fit the source. Arrow keys move it by 1px; Shift plus an arrow moves it by 10px.
Why do some tile sizes differ slightly?
When the selected side length is not divisible by three, tile widths and heights can differ by one pixel. This retains the entire selection without discarding or resizing pixels. Enter a multiple of three if you require identical tile sizes.
What does bottom-right-first file order mean?
Spatial tiles 9, 8 through 1 receive filename sequence prefixes 01, 02 through 09. This is a file-order option, not verification of an app’s posting behavior. Top-left-first exports spatial tiles 1 through 9.
Are areas outside the selection or preview numbers included?
PNGs contain only their part of the selected square. Areas outside it, grid guides and tile numbers are excluded. Transparent pixels are retained. Change the selection or order and generate again to obtain updated files.
