Frequently asked questions
Can I import and edit an existing EPUB?
No. This workbench creates a new EPUB 3 file. It does not modify existing books or remove DRM.
Does moving a chapter change the reading order?
Yes. The chapter list drives both the EPUB spine and navigation TOC.
Which images can I add?
PNG and JPEG cover or chapter images are supported. Every image needs nonempty alternative text.
Can one chapter link to another?
Use [label](#chapter-2) with the target chapter ID. Export fails if the target does not exist.
Will every reader display it identically?
The output uses basic EPUB 3 XHTML, CSS and package structures, but readers may choose different fonts or line breaks. Check your target readers and EPUBCheck before publication.
Privacy
Manuscripts and images stay in browser memory and are not uploaded to this tool's server. The downloaded EPUB contains your text, images and author metadata; review it before sharing.
