Frequently asked questions
How does this differ from Screenshot Beautifier?
This tool provides an asymmetric bottom border and a caption outside the photo. It focuses on paper-frame space rather than a screenshot background, shadow or decorative window bar.
How are output dimensions calculated?
Width is the source width plus twice the shared border. Height is the source height plus the shared border and bottom border. Default Polaroid settings turn an 800×520 image into 864×672px without scaling the photo.
Can the caption cover the photo?
No. It is placed only in the bottom border. Generation stops with an error if it does not fit. Increase that border, reduce font size or shorten the caption.
Can I use Korean or emoji in a long caption?
Captions support up to 200 JavaScript string units and explicit line breaks. Automatic wrapping uses word or grapheme boundaries so combined emoji are not split in the middle. Appearance depends on device fonts.
What happens to transparency in the source?
The photo is composited onto the chosen opaque frame color, which also shows through transparent source areas. The resulting background is opaque. The original file is not modified.
Can the bottom border be smaller than the other borders?
Yes. Set it independently from 0 to 600px. A caption needs enough space for its text and safety margins. Leave the caption empty to create only the frame.
