HTML Tag Remover
Extract readable text from copied HTML or a rich-text editor's source. The browser's HTML parser handles entities and angle brackets inside attributes. The input is never rendered into the page; scripts, styles, SVG, mathematical markup and iframe content are omitted. This does not evaluate external CSS or read text inside images.

Frequently asked questions
Will scripts in the input run?
No. Text is read from a detached template document that is never inserted into the live page. Output is displayed in a plain textarea.
Does the output match everything visible on the original page?
No. CSS visibility, generated content, JavaScript additions and text inside images are not interpreted. This extracts text present in the source.
Can I use this as an HTML sanitizer?
It is a text extractor, not an HTML security sanitizer. Keep its result as text when inserting it elsewhere; do not interpret it as HTML.
Why are paragraph breaks different?
Paragraph mode adds breaks for block elements such as p, div and lists, as well as br. Tag-only mode mainly preserves whitespace already present in the source text.
