Markdown Table Generator
Convert tab-separated values (TSV) copied from a spreadsheet into Markdown table syntax. Use the first row as a header or generate numbered headers, then choose left, center, or right alignment for all columns. Comma-separated CSV is a different format; commas are not treated as column separators here.
Key features

Frequently asked questions
Can it read comma-separated CSV?
Tabs separate columns. In CSV input, commas remain part of a cell. Copying a spreadsheet range usually produces tab-separated clipboard data.
What happens when row widths differ?
The widest row determines the number of columns. Shorter rows are padded on the right with empty cells, including the header row.
How are line breaks inside cells handled?
Line breaks inside a double-quoted TSV cell remain in that cell and become <br> in the Markdown output. Literal quotes within quoted cells must be doubled.
Will every Markdown editor render the result identically?
The editor must support pipe tables and HTML line breaks inside cells. Rendering can vary, so check the destination editor. Limits are 50,000 input characters, 500 rows, and 50 columns.
