Book Index Builder
Paste chapter, page, text sections and term, parent, aliases definitions to collect page references for selected terms. Adjacent pages within each chapter merge into ranges, and parent terms organize subentries. An alias assigned to multiple entries is flagged and excluded from automatic matching. This local editor aid does not decide which terms matter in a final publication.

Frequently asked questions
How are consecutive pages shown?
Adjacent pages within the same chapter merge into a start–end range. Pages in different chapters remain separate.
What happens if two terms share an alias?
All owners appear in the conflict list and that alias is excluded from automatic matching. This includes a preferred term that collides with another entry.
How are English and Korean word boundaries handled?
Matching normalizes Unicode and ignores case. Substrings inside letters or digits are excluded. It does not perform stemming or morphology; add needed forms as aliases.
Can it index a PDF without page locations?
No. You provide chapter, page, text CSV with page numbers. The tool does not extract PDF page numbers or automatically choose important concepts.
How do I enter a subentry?
Set parent to another row’s preferred term. Unknown parents or cycles are errors. Parent and child references are calculated separately.
What are the limits and exports?
Up to 500 manuscript rows/256 KiB and 200 term rows/32 KiB. TXT has hierarchy and ranges, CSV lists terms and locations, and JSON includes conflicts and full results.
