SEO HTML Auditor
Inspect the structure of one supplied HTML document before publishing it. The report points to source lines and columns for title, description, heading, link and image findings; it does not request the site's URL.
Key features
- Located checks for absent, empty or repeated document titles and descriptions
- H1 and heading inventory with missing, empty and multiple-H1 review flags
- Crawlable-link review for missing href, JavaScript URLs and fragment-only links
- Image alt inventory that distinguishes a missing attribute from intentional empty alt
- Browser-local file or pasted-source input with bounded JSON report export
How to use
- Choose an HTML file or paste a complete HTML document into the source field.
- Run the local audit and review findings by source line and column.
- Filter the title, description, heading, link and image inventory to inspect context.
- Edit the source and rerun, or download the report without the original HTML.
Use cases
- Catch two H1 elements in a page template before publishing.
- Find a navigation item implemented only with an onclick handler.
- Review product images that omit alt while leaving decorative alt empty.
- Compare a page's title and description with its visible headings.
Frequently asked questions
Does this test a live page or predict search indexing?
No. It inspects only the supplied HTML source in your browser. It cannot verify the served response, rendered JavaScript, robots rules, canonical selection, backlinks or whether Google, Bing or Naver will index a URL. Use their webmaster tools to inspect live behavior.
Why are title and description checks separate?
The title helps describe the page and can influence a search result's title link. Search engines may form a snippet from page content or sometimes use the meta description. The audit reports missing, empty and repeated values; it does not enforce a fixed character count or promise the text will appear in results.
Why is more than one H1 marked for review?
A clear main heading helps people and search engines understand a page. Naver flags multiple H1 elements in its basic SEO guide, so this audit highlights them for a human review. It does not say that an extra H1 automatically prevents indexing or violates a universal HTML rule.
Is an empty image alt attribute an error?
No. alt="" can be appropriate for a decorative image. The audit flags a missing alt attribute, lists explicit empty alt separately, and also highlights links with no usable text or image alt. Whether an image is decorative requires human judgment.
What do the link findings mean?
Search crawlers can discover destinations through ordinary a elements with href. A missing href or javascript: URL cannot serve as a normal crawlable link. A fragment-only href may be valid on-page navigation, so it is a review item. This audit never follows a link or checks the destination.
What happens with private HTML and large files?
Processing stays in page memory; the tool does not fetch source URLs or upload the HTML. It accepts at most 512 KiB of UTF-8 source and stops on element or finding limits rather than returning a partial clean result. The JSON download contains extracted snippets and link values, which you should review before sharing.
Privacy
The selected file and pasted HTML are read in browser memory. The tool does not send them to a server, fetch linked pages or save them automatically. Its optional JSON download contains extracted text and link values, but not the original complete HTML.
