Round Robin Scheduler
Create a complete league from a team list and explicit time-slot rules. This deterministic circle-round construction assigns every pair, spreads games across available courts and waits when a team needs more rest. It validates complete pair coverage and court/team conflicts before showing a result.
Key features
- All pairs once or twice with reversed home/away
- Odd-team byes identified per logical round
- Court capacity and actual team rest constraints
- Complete-plan validation before returning success
- Team preview,40-row pages and per-team rest summaries
- Full-match CSV and complete-plan JSON downloads
How to use
- Enter2–32 unique team names, one per line.
- Choose courts, minimum rest, one or two legs and slot duration.
- Set a nominal start time and available slot limit.
- Generate and review the full schedule, bye rounds and idle ranges.
- Filter the preview or download all matches; changes require regeneration.
Use cases
- Prepare a small recreational league with limited courts
- Compare how rest requirements change the event length
- Check odd-team rounds and reversed home/away meetings
Frequently asked questions
Is this a random draw or a tournament bracket?
Neither. A deterministic circle method creates all pair meetings. There is no elimination, ranking, score entry or winner selection. Input order affects the arrangement; the tool does not claim a random or fair draw.
What exactly does minimum rest mean?
It counts complete slots between the same team's matches. Slots1 and3 have one intervening rest slot. Every match lasts one slot and courts share the same slot boundaries. Rest before the first or after the last match is not required.
What happens with an odd team count?
Each team has one unmatched logical round per leg. A bye is not a victory and is not necessarily one time slot, because limited courts can spread a round across slots. The team summary and round table name every bye.
Is the schedule as short as possible?
No. The construction preserves logical round boundaries and greedily schedules eligible matches within each round. It does not mix later-round games into free courts or optimize total time, home balance or court rotation. The displayed capacity/rest lower bound may not be achievable.
What happens when the slot limit is too small?
If even the court or per-team rest lower bound exceeds the limit, the request is infeasible under the stated constraints. If only this construction exceeds the limit, another arrangement might fit. Both cases stop without returning a partial schedule. Limits are2–32 teams,1–16 courts, rest0–10 slots,5–240 minutes and at most10,000 slots.
How do times and exports work?
Times are nominal wall-clock labels with no timezone or daylight-saving conversion. Slots continue across nights and weekends with no opening-hour rules. End times are exclusive. CSV includes every match even when the preview is filtered; JSON includes the settings, matches, byes and idle ranges. CSV strings that resemble formulas receive an apostrophe. Nothing is automatically stored or sent.
Privacy
Team names and results stay in page memory. The tool makes no remote submission or analytics payload with these inputs. Downloads are created only on request; leaving the page discards unsaved work.
