Frequently asked questions
Which licenses are supported?
MIT, BSD-2-Clause and BSD-3-Clause are supported. The tool does not substitute a similar document for an unsupported license.
Is the license translated to Korean?
The interface is available in Korean and English, but the generated license uses the selected SPDX English text. A translation is not substituted for the original.
How should I enter the year?
Use a four-digit year or a range such as 2020-2026. The first year must be at least 1000 and the last year cannot precede it. Confirm the appropriate copyright years for your project.
Can I enter several copyright holders?
You can enter multiple names or an organization on one line within 200 characters. Control characters and angle brackets are rejected. The tool does not verify ownership or your authority to name a holder.
Which license is right for my project?
This tool does not recommend a license or determine compatibility. Review the full terms and the conditions and notices for third-party code. Seek legal advice if needed.
Is creating this file all I need to do?
A project or distribution may also require existing copyright notices, source headers or dependency notices. This tool creates only the LICENSE body and does not modify repository or package settings.
Privacy
The year and copyright holder are inserted in your current browser. Inputs and results are not automatically stored or sent to a server. The copy button writes to your clipboard only when requested.
