Low Poly Mesh Maker
Turn a photo or the sample image into triangle-face artwork by placing your own points. Select a rectangular region, click to add anchors, then drag them or edit their coordinates. Each triangle samples several positions in the image and displays one averaged face color. Download vector SVG or raster PNG. Point insertion order affects triangle connections; automatic contour detection and photo-faithful reconstruction are outside this tool's scope.
Key features
- Select an editing region on a photo or sample
- Click, drag or numerically edit up to 120 anchors
- Split triangles without holes, including points on edges
- Sample seven image positions for each triangle color
- Download vector SVG and raster PNG
How to use
- Use the sample or choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP image.
- Set the region's X, Y, width and height.
- Click to add anchors, drag the white points or edit coordinates below.
- Toggle the source view to inspect the image, then review the triangle faces.
- Save the SVG or PNG artwork.
Use cases
- Reduce a photo's color pattern to a polygon poster
- Rebuild just a selected image region as triangular faces
- Create lightweight vector art for a background
Frequently asked questions
Does it find contours and place anchors automatically?
No. You place anchors yourself. Their positions and insertion order change the triangle structure.
Why are the face colors different from the original photo?
Each triangle averages seven image samples into one flat color. Detail reduction is intentional. Transparent pixels are composited over white.
Is this Delaunay triangulation?
No. It splits the face containing each new point, including shared edges. Internal edges are locally flipped after insertion to reduce thin faces, but an optimal mesh is not guaranteed.
What is the maximum output size?
The image is resized to at most 600 pixels per side for editing and export. This is not a full-resolution photo reconstruction tool.
Do the PNG and SVG embed my original photo?
No. Exports contain only the computed triangles and face colors, not the original photo pixels.
Privacy
Image decoding, anchor editing, triangulation and downloads happen in browser memory. This tool does not upload your photo to its server API. Exports contain computed triangle coordinates and colors, not the original raster.
